At Washington Marble Works, we make it possible to find a countertop that won’t break the bank. While countertops are a worthy investment, we understand and respect our customers’ budgets, which is why we offer high-quality, affordable countertops that will shine in your remodeled room.

In this article, we’ll go over the natural and engineered stones that come with a price tag you’ll love.

Marble

Marble is a sophisticated stone for the ages. It’s known for its luxurious looks and unique patterns, and it makes use of any natural light in a room to brighten it considerably.

Marble is one of the softer natural stones, which means that it should be handled with care in order to maintain its gorgeous looks. If you keep up on the sealing routine and make sure to avoid acidic substances around your slab, your marble should last for generations.

Granite

Granite is what we think of when we think of a classic stone. It’s durable and beautiful, and it can be used for a variety of applications both indoors and out. It’s a very hard material, and it is known for its resistance to heat and scratches.

No two slabs of granite in the entire world are alike, so your countertop will be completely your own. As long as you periodically seal your slab and maintain its easy care, you may never have to replace it.

Quartzite

If you thought granite was tough, quartzite is even tougher. Known as one of the hardest natural materials, this is the countertop to choose in a house with high activity and no time for gentle care.

Quartzite can mimic the look of marble, but it comes with much less maintenance. It’s resistant to heat, scratches, and chemicals, and just having this countertop in your home has the potential to increase its resale value.

Quartz

Quartz is our engineered stone option for affordable countertops. While made up mostly of natural quartz, included in these countertops is about 10 percent polymers and resins. These additives seep into the quartz’s natural pores and seal it—so you don’t have to.

Quartz countertops are made more flexible because of their resin content, so they’re less likely to crack than natural stones are. But while there are many benefits to having quartz, we recommend installing them inside only.

If you’re interested in uniformity for your remodeled room, check out quartz. Since it’s a man-made material, it’s known for a more seamless look.

Affordable Options

There’s no bad choice when it comes to marble, granite, quartzite, and quartz. Of course, prices will vary between these stones, so it’s up to you to decide which suits your remodel and your budget best. To learn more about our affordable countertops, contact Washington Marble Works today.
