Quality Fabrication and Service Since 1984
At Washington Marble Works, we specialize in stone countertops—and luckily, that’s the material that many people gravitate toward when they’re hunting for countertop materials.
If you’re located in Sumner, Washington, and you’re looking for quality countertops that fit your design style, we would love to work with you. We value our customers and their projects, and we put 100 percent effort into every countertop remodel we accomplish.
But before you sign on with us, you’ll want to know the countertop materials that we offer. We’re proud of our selection of marble, granite, quartzite, and quartz, and we’re certain that at least one of these stones will jump out at you.
Marble has been used for centuries, yet it has never gone out of style. This classy stone is formed from limestone, so it’s a bit softer than other natural stones—and that softness means that it requires more maintenance than granite or quartzite. But the beauty and sophistication that come with marble surely make up for any extra time you spend taking care of it.
Marble has the ability to brighten up any room; it takes advantage of even the smallest amount of natural light to create a beautiful, luminous centerpiece that you (and your guests) won’t be able to stop admiring. It’s also an incredibly unique stone. Every slab has unique colorations and veining, and no two in the world are exactly the same.
If you live in a quiet home and have the time and inclination to take care of marble, it is a valuable, classic asset for your kitchen or bathroom.
Granite is a popular choice for many of our customers—and with good reason. It’s a durable stone that doesn’t require heavy maintenance, and it lasts for generations. Much like marble, no two slabs are identical, so even if every single one of your neighbors installs a granite countertop, they will all be different in their own ways.
Granite holds its own against heat, stains, and chemicals. As long as you keep up with the sealing process (we are happy to share specifics on this if you choose to go with natural stone), it will maintain its integrity for a long time. And the best part is that you only need soap and water to clean it.
If you need a tough countertop, look no further than quartzite. Quartzite is an incredibly hard stone that can withstand almost everything—from heat to chemicals and much more.
While marble will fare the best in a quiet home, quartzite can take the heat (literally) in a busy and chaotic home. If you have a high-energy family, the last thing you want to do is constantly worry about the state of your countertop. With quartzite, you won’t have to.
Like all stone countertops, installing quartzite in your home will most likely increase its resale value, as many buyers are drawn to stone countertops before any other options.
Unlike our previous three selections, quartz is not a natural stone. Instead, it’s called an engineered stone. While a large chunk is composed of natural quartz, there is a small percentage of polymers and resins added to seal up its pores. Because it’s nonporous, it only gets sealed once during the fabrication process—then you never have to worry about it again.
Quartz slabs are also known for their uniformity. With natural stone countertops comes a sense of unpredictability, and in some cases, the seams don’t match up perfectly. Quartz is different because it can take on a seamless look that makes for a more streamlined, smooth aesthetic.
Between marble, granite, quartzite, and quartz, there’s no bad choice to make. These materials all have benefits that outweigh their downfalls. All you have to do is decide which one works best for your home and your family’s lifestyle.
